Top 10 Caribbean Food

Hi everyone, as proud Caribbeans we just had to tell you about the wonderful Caribbean foods.

10. Souse
Pickled Pigs Ears and Tails with minced onion, salt, pepper, chopped cucumber and a few splashes of hot sauce.




9. Dumpling/ Bakes

A sweet concoction of flour, sugar & cornmeal. Delicious baked or fried.





8. Plantain

The plantain is a crop from the genus Musa. Its fruits are edible, and are generally used for cooking. Delicious Fried & can also be boiled.




7. Jamaican Chicken Soup

It is a rich soup that features chicken necks.




6. Ackee & Saltfish

Ackee and saltfish is a traditional Jamaican dish, known as Jamaica's national dish.




5. Fish Fritters

A popular Jamaican appetizer, these fried salted cod cakes can be made in any kitchen. Just stamp them out in the kitchen, take some for the road and go.





4. Curry Goat

A curry dish made from goat & very popular in Caribbean cuisine.





3. Jamaican Pattie

A pastry that contains various filling and spices baked inside a flaky shell, often tinted golden yellow with an egg yolk mixture or turmeric. It is made like a turnover but is more savoury.




2. Jerk Chicken & Rice & Peas

Jerk is a style of cooking native to Jamaica in which meat is dry-rubbed or wet marinated with a very hot spice mixture called Jamaican jerk spice.  






1. Oxtail
Stewed oxtail with butter beans or as main dish (with rice) is popular in Jamaica, Trinidad, and other West Indian cultures.
